Seven Oaks Academy is a Montessori preschool in Lilburn, Georgia. We offer various platforms for creative learning experiences for all the children in our facility including authentic Montessori materials, MACTE accredited trained Guides and utilizing exemplar "next" practices for student success outcomes.
Our Origin Story
Seven Oaks Academy was founded in 1989 with a vision to provide high-quality early childhood education to families in Gwinnett County, Georgia. Over the decades, the school has grown and evolved to meet the needs of children and families while maintaining a commitment to excellence in education.
In 1990, Seven Oaks expanded to serve more children across the community, and by 1992, it became a pilot test site for Georgia’s Universal Pre-K Program commissioned by Governor Zell Miller. The program’s success helped launch Georgia’s Lottery Pre-K Program statewide.
In 2010, a grant-funded playground was added through the generosity of community partners, parents, and organizations like KaBoom, providing children with an enriched outdoor learning and play environment.
In 2022, Seven Oaks Academy became a proud member of the American Montessori Society (AMS) and began the journey toward full AMS accreditation. This milestone reflects our dedication to providing authentic Montessori education and aligns with our vision for the future—expanding to multiple campuses while continuing to serve as a beacon of quality education for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years.
Our Montessori Roots
Montessori education, founded by Dr. Maria Montessori in the early 1900s, is built on the belief that children are naturally curious, capable, and eager to learn. Through a carefully prepared environment, hands-on learning materials, and the guidance of trained educators, children develop independence, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
At Seven Oaks Academy, our Montessori approach combines this time-tested philosophy with today’s best practices, ensuring every child gains the skills, character, and confidence to thrive from “cradle to college.”
